The late Alex Trebek received another Daytime Emmy Award on Friday night, marking the Danger! the vet’s third consecutive win for the Outstanding Game Show host and his eighth overall.
Trebek’s adult children, Matt and Emily, accepted the award on his behalf, on the CBS TV show.

Emily added, “Over the past 37 years the show has become like a second family. He was always excited to go to work, even during his battle with cancer. He was so lucky to be able to do it. what he loved, and we know he never took it once for granted.On behalf of our family, we thank you very much.
In total, Trebek has amassed 32 Daytime Emmy nods during his career, including three for his work on Classic Concentration. Larry King also won a posthumous Daytime Emmy Award at this year’s ceremony for Best Informative Talk Show Host for Larry King now. (See the full list of winners here.)
Trebek died last November of pancreatic cancer at the age of 80. He had hosted Danger! since the daily subscription version debuted in 1984; its last episodes aired in January. Since then the quiz has rotated in a number of guest hosts, including Danger! champion Ken Jennings, NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers, CNN presenter Anderson Cooper and actress Mayim Bialik. A permanent replacement for Trebek, however, has yet to be named.
