Few shows have defined an era like ‘Martin.’ From music to movies to fashion, the iconic sitcom wasn’t just a mainstream success overseas, it was a cultural force that went beyond the screen and embodied an era. The show was a crossover sensation while providing an honest and refreshing take on the black experience and to this day the characters, all created by the comedic genius of the show’s namesake, Martin Lawrence, are still among the most beloved. of pop culture. Thirty years later, his legacy lives on, and this summer fans can relive all the love, joy and laughter as Martin and the gang reunite again for the first time in decades.
The reunion special, hosted by the comedian and actor Afion Crockettwill include Martin Lawrence (“Martin”), Tisha Campbell (“Gina”), Tichina Arnold (“Pamela”) and Carl Anthony Payne II (“Cole”), as well as surprise appearances. Taking a look at the origin and evolution of the series, the reunion will include interviews with the cast, original directors, special musical performances and behind-the-scenes commentary on the significance and impact of the series that shaped a generation.

The special is written by Nile Evans as well as Bentley Kyle Evans who also serves as co-executive producer. Jesse Collins Entertainment’s Brittany Brazil serves as producer.
Taping took place on Sunday, February 20, and will launch on BET+ later this year. In the meantime, fans can prepare for the reunion by rewatching all five seasons of Martin now on BET+.
