Mayim Bialik gets his temporary gig as union host Danger! expanded. The actress and host of Danger!Prime Time Specials and Spinoffs, will share hosting duties with former champion Ken Jennings. Both will host shows that will air until the end of the calendar year.
Bialik, who was invited earlier this year following the death of Alex Trebek, was initially scheduled to record three weeks of episodes (15 episodes) after Mike Richards abruptly exited as the permanent host after a day of shoot in the midst of controversy.
She will now host episodes that will begin airing from September 20 to November 5. After that, Bialik and Jennings, the first guest invited to succeed Trebek after his death and a Danger! producer-consultant, will share the hosting tasks according to their schedule.
Danger! kicked off its new season this week with all five episodes Richards recorded in his one day as permanent host.
When Richards stepped down as host last month, he said in his role as an EP that the show “will bring back guest hosts.” He was later fired as executive producer of the two Danger! and Wheel of Fortune.
And, following the strong reaction from fans that the first guest guest parade received, Danger! has now abandoned plans for another.
