The Munsters Set photos reveal Rob Zombie’s reinvention of the sitcom

Rob Zombie has revealed new photos from the set of the reboot of The Munsters, showing the iconic and dark 1313 Mockingbird Lane come to life.

In the wake of fall, Rob Zombie is finally letting fans experience some of what’s going on with his elusive upcoming remake of The Munsters. The beloved and fleeting 60s classic has yet to see a successful remake project and Zombie seems to be going all out with the details.

In a recent Instagram post of All Possibilities peacock movie, Zombie shares photos of the construction of the iconic Mockingbird Lane, with the Munster House partially completed at the end. Zombie’s message reads: “Mockingbird Lane comes alive again” and: “It’s a beautiful day in Budapest and good old Mockingbird Lane is going perfectly. Who wouldn’t want to live here?”

1313 Mockingbird Lane comes to life in the Munsters images that show the partially constructed assembly. Already the spooky mansion stands out from other bright and modern houses on the street. The film’s production team have shared a few photos over the past few months of different costumes, masks and prosthetic accessories created and coming to life. However, details of the highly anticipated film have been mostly kept under wraps.

Zombie has not confirmed any casting yet, but Murphy’s Multiverse showed up with rumored cast members in March, including Zombie’s wife Sheri Moon as Lily Munster and Jeff Daniel Phillips as the role. by Herman Munster. Other cast members include Richard Brake, Dan Roebuck, Jorge Garcia, and Cassandra Peterson (aka Elvira). New Munsters the film is being made under Universal Home Entertainment, and it has also been said that the film could end up becoming a Peacock streaming exclusive, with other upcoming horror films potentially following suit. The original show is currently airing on Peacock in its entirety.

The Munsters had a short screen time, with the original show only airing between 1964 and 1966 and a follow-up TV show titled The Munsters today aired from 1988 to 1991. Bryan Fuller attempted to reimagine the world in a television series called Mockingbirds Way, but the show was never aired after a pilot episode. Zombies Munsters would be the franchise’s first film adaptation and the first successful reimagining since The Munsters today.

The set photos confirm that Zombie has a certain level of dedication to keeping elements of the original series alive in his adaptation, although Zombie has already faced criticism in the horror world for his recreations of Halloween and House of 1000 corpses. With a constant stream of details and a preview of the film coming from Zombie and the team members over the past few months, fans will hopefully have more concrete information to work with sooner rather than later.

The Munsters will have a release date soon.
