As Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel series continues, we have to ask ourselves: who doesn’t love a good game show?
In the BBC’s The Wheel, members of the public and celebrities are put to the test as contestants strive to make a huge sum of money with their wealth of knowledge.
The stars who appear on the show act as experts in certain categories, with players expected to trust their judgment as they share what they think are the answers to the questions put to them.
As the show is presented by Michael, there is a lot of laughter mixed with the nerves that contestants must feel when they get in place.
So how does The Wheel work and what celebrities have been on it before?
How does The Wheel game show work?
On each episode of The Wheel, seven celebrities sit around a giant wheel, each with very specific expertise on a certain topic.
There are several competitors sitting under the wheel, one of whom is randomly selected to both climb to the top and try to win a cash prize.
The candidate chosen to participate selects a category to answer a question, on which he will receive help from one of the celebrities.
However, they might not be able to get help from the celebrity who is an expert on the subject as it is completely hit or miss who will end up being their help.
Before the wheel turns, the celebrity expert lights up in gold, while the contestant chooses a star to close in red, which he says would not be of much help on the matter.
If the contestant answers a question correctly with a non-expert celebrity, the cash prize will increase by £ 3,000, while answering correctly with the expert can earn them £ 10,000.
However, if they land on the celebrity they arrested in red or if they answer the question incorrectly, they are taken off the wheel before someone else takes their place.
Once the questions have been asked about the seven categories, the contestant who is driving at that time will then have one final question to answer, which, if answered correctly, could cause them to walk away with the full prize in money.
